Prosecutors say arrest warrant for "Mong Chittu" should not be issued yet as evidence is insufficient

Today (12 February 2025), Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, revealed to the Thai PBS news team about the case in which the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) previously brought evidence of a human trafficking case to meet with the public prosecutor of the Human Trafficking Case Office to discuss the legal issues in issuing arrest warrants for Colonel Saw Chit Thu or Colonel Mong Chit Thu, Lieutenant Colonel Mote Thone, and Major Tin Win, leaders of the BGF or the Karen Army, an important force that rules Myawaddy, Myanmar, in a human trafficking case involving Indians. He alleged that all three of them were involved in 8 Indian victims who were tricked into using Thailand as a transit route to Myawaddy, similar to the case of “Wang Xing,” a Chinese actor. Therefore, an arrest warrant should be issued that:
